Alberto

I am a Research Student at the Ligatus Research Centre of the University of the Arts, London. I am a book conservator by training and have worked in that capacity for about 10 years in various institutions up to last October, when I resigned to start my Research Degree. Books then, old and new, have signed quite a few years of my life.

The main objective of Ligatus is the study of historical bookbinding through the development of digital tools and resources with particular interest to conservation. My research focuses on the conversion of historical bookbinding verbal descriptions into simple visualizations to make comparison between different items easier and boost the possibility of research in the field.

Having to choose whether I am more in the Humanities or the Technologies camp, I would go for the former.
